Errr...I'm having a HUGE issue with Target!

So, I plan on filling you in on my Target aches and pains, but for now I want to let you know this:

When a coupon says "One Per Purchase" that does NOT mean you can only use one in a transaction. It means that you can only use one coupon per item (duh, that seems obvious, right?). If the coupon says "One Per Transaction" then it means just that, if you have multiple of the same "One Per Transaction" coupons then you have to make multiple transactions.

This information is true everywhere and was verified over the phone with a not so friendly "customer service" representative. I have to say, right now I am not so convinced that Target cares about their customer service at all!

Also, using coupons is not stealing. Don't ever let anyone make you feel bad because you are shopping frugally! All stores get reimbursed for coupons, so even if it makes an item free for you, the store still gets paid for it.

Sigh, enough ranting for now, I'll keep you posted after I visit my local Target store again tonight!

  1. Ouch! I look forward to hearing the rest of the story! I hope you let them know you intend to tell your story on your blog. Folks tend to they know you're going to air their dirty laundry.

  2. It really bothers me that employees make people feel bad for using coupons. Where I live, not a lot of people are "frugal" shoppers. When I get an item or a whole transaction for free or even really cheap (like spending $10 on a $50 purchase), I get employees that will sit there and wonder "Can she do that?" or flat-out tell me that they think I'm doing something wrong. Just because not everyone in North Dakota saves money doesn't mean I can't!

Anyway, thanks for letting me rant...and I look forward to hearing your horror stories! And like Michelle said, companies DO tend to listen more when they know you're spreading the word.
