My Diaper Rant...

Ok, so do I LOVE Pampers? Yes, more than most things in this world. But, is it worth it to me to spend at least an extra $50 a month to have both of my kids in Pampers....sadly, no. Do I HATE Huggies? Why yes, yes I really hate Huggies. Are they more frequently on sale and often cheaper than even store brand diapers....sadly, yes.

So here is the deal, since January I've been only buying the best deals on diapers. My kids are old enough where brand really doesn't matter any more and leaks aren't really a problem. I am a firm believer in only Pampers Swaddlers until they are in size 2, but that is my personal preference. But, I digress, anyway, I have saved a ton of money! The average cost of a jumbo pack of Pampers is $9.99, Huggies, $8.99, Luvs, $7.99, etc. Usually you can find at least a $1 off coupon for any given brand. But, when you shop frugally and look for the best deals that week AND stock up when the price is right, you can buy a jumbo pack of diapers for anywhere from $4.99 and cheaper!

I really have saved $100's of dollars since January. And, let's face it we all have debt and we all need money, so you have to decide what is important to you. We made a plan to be mostly debt free by October, that means that in October we will have almost an extra $1,000 a month to put toward daily living, bills, and savings. I didn't think it was possible, I thought we'd always live paycheck to paycheck since we always have, but I was really wrong.

So, does brand name really matter that much?
